For our out of hours cover you can contact 0845 1451800. This service employs only doctors with wide experience in general practice. However at times they can be very busy and you may have to wait. The service can only deal with your immediate problems – they cannot issue sick notes, order tests or change your regular treatments and so they are not an alternative to seeing your own doctor. If the patient is able then you may be asked to bring them to a Primary Care Centre on weekday evenings or at weekends and you may be offered advice if it seems that an immediate face to face consultation is not necessary. This is to enable efficient use of resources and is in line with National Health Service policy on out of hour’s care.
